Vivant
Paris Design Week2025
At Paris Design Week 2025, Dorothée Delaye presented a new scenography focusing on the tangible, vibratory and poetic dimensions of living matter.
The “Vivant” (alive) theme is an invitation to contemplate matter in all its fullness: its texture, its light, its movement. Each creation offers an immersion into a universe where matter tells a story to awaken the senses and nourish the imagination.
For the exhibition, Dorothée Delaye unveils “Orso”, a wall sconce designed in collaboration with visual artist Olivia Stora.
Inspired by the organic forms of fossils and shells, this piece explores the tension between the roughness of raw materials and the finesse of handcrafted gestures.
In the same spirit, the glazed ceramic “Levant” table is reminiscent of coral or boiling lava. Decorated with a central wave, the tabletop marks the meeting of the elegance and nobility of wood and the lively spirit of ceramics. A clash of materials born of collaboration with ceramist Diane Fekete, whose work is surprising in its evocative power.
Last but not least, Dorothée Delaye reinterprets her Zéphyr sofa in an armchair version: with its deep, generous seat, wide back with multiple yokes, enveloping lines and the movement of a wave on the armrests, it imposes a timeless elegance with an assertive seventies imagery.
A poetic scenography retranscribing Dorothée Delaye’s timeless and singular universe in terms of materials, curation and furniture.
