Avenue de Wagram
Paris

Located in Paris’s 17th arrondissement, not far from the Parc Monceau, the Hotel Mercedes is getting a makeover. For almost a century, this Art Deco icon has stood proudly in the quartier Wagram. Powdered pink on the face, the former Mercedes boarding house is now resurrected as a cheerful neighborhood hotel, a stopover for weekend Parisians and travelers from all over the world. 37 quiet rooms, 1 dreamy duplex suite. A decorative tribute to the architecture and ambience of Miami. All the essentials to brighten up West Paris.

Madly Art Deco

Avenue de Wagram, Paris. Just a stone’s throw from Parc Monceau and Promenade Perreire, stands an unforgettable façade designed by renowned architect Pierre Patout. In the 20s and 30s, Patout, who helped design the transatlantic liner Normandie, was a benchmark for the “ocean liner” and maritime style, and rounded out Paris with buildings featuring wildly Art Deco lines.

Long a boarding house, the Hôtel Mercedes, named after the first owner’s daughter, was built in 1928. Seven floors, a pastel-pink, lightly powdered façade, an air of Miami in the heart of Paris and a vintage bar in the basement.

“Mercedes is a monumental hotel with an extravagant façade. An architectural gem from the 1930s that I wanted to bring back to life by drawing inspiration from Miami, with its pastel features and cheerful, frankly vibrant atmospheres. Mercedes tells the story of Art Deco, a heritage and artistic movement that is eternally inspiring and always alive”- Dorothée Delaye.
